Late Fee Dates

All licenses expire, and six government agencies add late fees to all unpaid license renewals on a certain date.

You may see those late fees reflected on your GRS invoice ahead of the government agency’s actual expiration date. This is to allow our Documentation Team team time to physically mail your payment and paperwork, so it arrives on time and your licenses do not lapse. To avoid late fees, please make your payment to GRS at least 2 weeks before your license’s renewal date. If you pay by wire transfer or check, please let us know to expect payment by emailing us at LM@globalrsinc.com.

PLEASE NOTE: Payment for renewal fees is due BEFORE the dates listed below that GRS will be adding late fees to unpaid renewal invoices. If you submit payment on or after that date, you will be responsible for the late fee for our team to submit the renewal fees for your license.

Below you will find each government agency’s renewal dates, as well as the dates on which GRS may add late fees to your invoice.

I’m a Supplier I’m a Retailer

To allow our team ample time to arrange payments, GRS will now add late fees to invoices 1-2 weeks earlier than we did in 2023.

To ensure GRS customers enrolled in License Management have the same amount of time to pay, the Monitored Services team will now generate state renewal invoices two weeks earlier than in 2023.

Late Fees for 2025

Oklahoma

Oklahoma’s renewal deadline is July 31.

To avoid late fees, please make your payment to GRS before July 16.

If GRS does not receive payment before July 17, you may be charged a late fee of $2.50.

Utah

Utah’s renewal deadline is December 31.

To avoid late fees, please make your payment to GRS before December 10.

If GRS does not receive payment before December 10, you may be charged a late fee of $25.

West Virginia

West Virginia’s renewal deadline is July 15.

To avoid late fees, please make your payment to GRS before July 1.

If GRS does not receive payment before July 1, you may be charged a late fee of $25.

City of Detroit

The City of Detroit’s renewal deadline is December 31.

To avoid late fees, please make your payment to GRS before December 3.

If GRS does not receive payment before December 3, you may be charged a late fee of $50.

Connecticut

Connecticut’s renewal deadline is April 30.

To avoid late fees, please make your payment to GRS before April 20.

If GRS does not receive payment before April 20, you may be charged a late fee of $10.

California

California’s renewal deadline is 2 years after your license was originally issued or renewed last.

To avoid late fees, please make your payment to GRS at least 2 weeks before your license’s renewal date. If you pay by wire transfer or check, please let us know to expect payment by emailing us at LM@globalrsinc.com

If GRS does not receive payment before that date, you may be charged an initial late fee of $100. If 90 days from that date pass without payment, California will charge you an additional $225.
